The Darkly Comedic Thriller “Bodkin” Enters the Netflix Chart

The series “Bodkin,” produced by SLL's label wiip, has reached 5th place on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list (English). “Bodkin” is a darkly comedic thriller about a motley crew of podcasters who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in a quaint, coastal Irish town, but once they start pulling at threads, they discover a story much bigger and weirder than they could have ever imagined.

The drama is directed by Nash Edgerton and stars Will Forte, Siobhán Cullen, and Robyn Cara. Telling a fresh story that combines comedy and thriller, the series challenges our perception of truth and exposes the stories we tell ourselves to justify our beliefs or validate our fears. The show is available on Netflix.

SLL and THE SEVEN to Launch Global Drama Production

SLL announced Thursday that SLL Japan, the Japanese branch of SLL, and THE SEVEN, the Japanese content production firm of TBS Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to co-produce global drama series. SLL Japan, established in Japan in 2022, has been actively promoting the entry of Korean studio systems into the Japanese market and focusing on building a cooperation system between Korea and Japan.

Under this collaboration, director Lee Jae-kyu of SLL's label Film Monster, who produced “All of Us Are Dead” and “Daily Dose of Sunshine,” and director Akira Morii, head of the production unit at THE SEVEN, behind the “Alice in Borderland” series, will produce an action series centered on a protagonist with special abilities. This global drama co-production project is significant because it goes beyond local sales or remakes of existing IPs to share the production capabilities of Korean and Japanese studios from the planning stage and collaborate directly with creators.
